Designing Culture Identities
Originality is the guiding principle of art and culture. The visual communication of museums, theaters, and other cultural institutions is no less pioneering. Today, cultural institutions are breaking new ground where art meets logos, culture meets commerce, and design meets curation. In fact, one would be hard pressed to find another area of graphic design in which the work is so fresh and experimental and so often serves as a precursor for future visual trends.
A hotbed for cutting-edge graphic design it is primarily in the cultural realm that designers are liberated to or even expected to push boundaries and work beyond what one would expect of promotional communications.
To celebrate our new book release Introducing: Culture Identities: Designs for Museums, Theaters, and Cultural Institutions, Gestalten invites you to an evening of talks by two visionary designers, Ludovic Balland and Johannes Erler, who are especially active in the cultural field. They will share and discuss their rich experiences in producing groundbreaking visionary design work for international cultural institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, Theater Basel, the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, and the Theater Bremen.
This talk will be held in German.
Free entrance.
