Psychedelics and Surrealism

Get to Know Spanish Collage Artist Fran Rodríguez
Posted by Gestalten—03/2017

Fran Rodríguez aka lacabezaenlasnubes, which means "head in the clouds" in Spanish, is a graphic designer and artist born on the northern coast of Spain currently living in Barcelona. His collage works are heavily inspired by surrealism and psychedelics while he describes himself as "a compulsive daydreamer being obsessed with outer space and with almost anything that can fly".

Like Rodríguez, many artists and illustrators worldwide are turning to collaging as a way to explore the surreal experiences and create imagery deeply rooted in fantasy. See more in our books The Age of Collage and The Age of Collage 2.
