Design Days Brandenburg 2013
Still a newcomer among the design festivals, the Design Days Brandenburg now returns for the second time and definitely gives Berliners a reason to leave the city for an exciting weekend of workshops, exhibitions, lectures and discussions within the Berlin hinterland.
On Wednesday night, November 20, the Design Day's program kicks off with the awarding ceremony of the 8th Brandenburg Design Prize. Before the Design Market (Designmarkt und -messe) opens on Friday, FH Potsdam and Villa Schöningen are launching a product design exhibition on Thursday, looking back onto 20 years of design studies in Potsdam.
The Design Market at Schiffbauergasse showcases work of more than 40 regional designers and entrepreneurs. It is opening from Friday to Sunday this weekend and will be accompanied by an insightful conference around the themes that positively affect Brandenburg designers. Offering short keynote presentations, creatives from Brandenburg will also talk about how they work and in what way—if at all—they're influenced by their location.
Visitors can also enjoy a wide range of programs including 3D-printing and other DIY workshops, fashion shows, concerts, and visual projections Potsdam's Planetarium. See the full program online.
