Erik Kessels

Exhibiting in Berlin
Posted by Gestalten—12/2012

Erik Kessels is showing a series of found photography in the upcoming show entitled “In Almost Every Picture #12”. The exhibit opens on December 9th at 7 PM and runs until December 23rd. The gallery is open daily from 1-8 PM.

The moustached man with the old-school Panasonic is Larbi Laaraichi. He lives in Fez, Morocco, a city where lots of people get married and Larbi has made a career as a wedding cameraman. The images in the exhibition are reproductions of advertisements covering the walls in his shop. They are proudly displayed next to Larbi’s filmmaking credentials: a diploma from Kodak, presented on May 26th, 1993, in Casablanca. While these images were designed to sell Larbi’s services, they also provide an insight into the man himself.
