Does This Happen to Everyone? featured on Publishers Weekly. "Taking an empathetic and respectful approach to sex education, Von Hollenben and Helms blend humor, factual information, and candid advice. A valuable resource that normalizes and affirms sexuality while suggesting that puberty is a time of both physical and intellectual growth.”
Jan Van Der Veken at the Antwerp Book Fair
Running from October 31 to November 11, the Antwerp Book Fair serves as the annual meeting of Flemish and Dutch publishers, authors and of course illustrators. Meet graphic artist Jan Van Der Veken and get your copy of his newly released Fabrica Grafica book signed this Friday, November 1st at the Pinceel Stand 103.
Hailing from the motherland of comics, Jan Van Der Veken's illustrations are influenced by Hergé’s iconic atom style and ligne claire, and still the artist has developed a personal technique that melds the international style, art deco, and Belgium’s comics tradition into a visual language that is both contemporary and timeless. Van Der Veken's first monograph Fabrica Grafica showcases his book covers, posters, and editorial illustrations for international publishing houses and magazines such as the New Yorker and proofs once again why Belgians lead the international field of illustration.
