Latex for Fun
Since its first year, in 1997, the Leandre Cristòfol Art Biennale has continued to support the work of Catalan and Spanish artists to show the diversity of the visual arts today, presenting works and projects that straddle the borders between art, architecture and design, while building up a collection that now boasts 109 pieces.
This year, the designer Máximo Tuja aka Max-o-matic has been invited to participate with his project Latex for Fun, published by Gestalten. The 300-page book includes five exclusive latex balloons and is on sale at the Centre d’Art la Panera, where the event is taking place until April 28th, 2013.
Latex for Fun presents highlights from this wonderfully wacky project in which 135 designers from over 20 countries participated; 88 of these designers are represented in the publication. Their work reflects various styles, personalities and cultures, but all of it shows how vibrantly creative the collaboration of a spontaneously generated global design network can be.
