Does This Happen to Everyone? featured on Publishers Weekly. "Taking an empathetic and respectful approach to sex education, Von Hollenben and Helms blend humor, factual information, and candid advice. A valuable resource that normalizes and affirms sexuality while suggesting that puberty is a time of both physical and intellectual growth.”
Together with fellow illustrator Mac Premo, the Irish arist has put together the opening film for the 2013 conference of TED in Long Beach. The commission by the TED conference series was for the current session entitled “The Young, The Wise, The Undiscovered.” The conference in California is currently underway, starting on February 25th and ending today, March 1st, 2013. The two illustrators created a novel flipboard, presenting the names of the speakers on one side and a mixed-media collage on the other. It all looks and feels very much in the unique style of Oliver Jeffers.
The Brooklyn-based artist and author recently released his first monograph with Gestalten, entitled Neither Here Nor There. Two limited editions are also available: the Special Edition, in a bespoke slipcase, and the Studio Edition, in a handmade wooden box. Both editions come with a signed copy of the book as well as extras such as custom-made prints.
