Red Bull Music Academy Weekender
On the occasion of its 15th Anniversary, the Red Bull Music Academy Weekender is set to take over the Japanese capital for a four-day festival. From November 1–4, phenomenal concerts, performances, seminars, and exhibitions hosted by RBMA will be taken place all over Tokyo.
As the celebration goes on, the Red Bull Music Academy has paired up a number of the world’s top artists and industry insiders like Nile Rodgers, Erykah Badu, DJ Harvey, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, as well as Just Blaze, curating 15 stimulating conversations on some of the most relevant topics in music today.
Our new release For the Record, in the same fashion, features these conversations that took place around the world. Topics range from live performance, instruments and interfaces, conceptualism, drumming, rhythm, and many more. Together with stunning visual design by Chris Rehberger’s Double Standards agency, the results make for one of the most insightful publications on the current state of music and the music industry.
As part of the RBMA Weekender's Culture Fair, Gestalten is bringing a one-day pop up bookshop at the Ba-tsu Art Gallery on Sunday, November 3. Listening and talk sessions with DJ Cosmo and DJ KRUSH will also be taken place at the fair. The Culture Fair is open to public from 11:00 to 21:00.
On the same day, RBMA is hosting a dazzling exhibition to launch the For the Record book at the neighboring Common Gallery. An interesting fact about the show is that every showcased visual will be printed on different material, such as fabric, aluminum, and Japanese paper.
