Relevant

Simple Shape, Low Contrast, Slight Tapering

Here comes the new addition to the Gestalten foundry. Relevant emphasizes the significance of legibility and readability. Charmingly clean, settled, and “efficient,” this typeface emerged from a typographic attempt to create a font family with a systematic architecture. Working well for all applications, from posters to body text and font pairing, this font makes a big impact on text and design with its simplest characters. Additional typographic functions such as ligatures and superscript are available.

About the designers: Based in Bern and Vienna, the designers Michael Mischler and Nik Thönen have teamed up years ago under the name Binnenland. Throughout his time in Berlin from 1998 to 2006 Michael Mischler, as one of the first graphic designers and editors at Gestalten, conceived, edited, and designed over 20 publications on various subjects from the areas of graphic design, typography, and visual culture. Mischler co-founded Gestalten Fonts in 2003 and is still involved in scouting fresh typography talent for the foundry. Nik Thönen, a member of the Vienna-based design collective, Re-P.ORG, is the author of two Gestalten fonts, Blender and Regular. Read more.
