Surface is an experimental typography questioning the letter materiality, its texture and its imprint on paper. It is a set of layers and overlayers of the same element repeated on several axes (X, Y) according to the letter drawing. This element is a pencil mark which suggests the idea to invest the space of an empty sheet. The non-existent kerning adds to the monolithic character of the typeface, thus asserting it as a tangible block.
