With the Plastiken series, Luisa Hanika dealt extensively with plastic as a material as well as environmental pollution, aiming to promote awareness of sustainability efforts. She collected colored plastic waste over a period of six months, then arranged the garbage with plastic animals, to create these still-life photographs.
