"Deutschland für Anfänger" (Germany for beginners) is web-based tool for people who visit the country for the first time, a sort of elementary guide based on the German language which uses a limited number of keywords to describe this country and its culture. On the website (www.deutschland-az.net, available in Italian and German) the user finds a simple glossary with words divided into four categories: history, everyday life, culture (concerning all different ethnic elements which compose Germany's identity today) and clichés (because clichés are part of the travelling experience too!). For each word the website offers a text (explaining what the keyword means in Germany's culture and why), a dictionary definition, a few interesting links and some photographs. This way "Deutschland für Anfänger" is a modular system which can be updated continuously and could potentially be adopted for any other country.
