When did all start?
It started in our heads more than two years ago but the shop only opened the first of September 2007.
What was the reason behind the opening of the store?
We are three graphic designers / graffiti writers / Streetartists, always searching for inspiration and visual stimulation but there was nothing here in Luxembourg that would satisfy our needs, so we decided to create this shop for all the people feeling the same way.
Could you describe the neighborhood in which the store is located?
The shop is situated on one of the most beautiful avenues in Luxembourg linking the city center and the central station. All main busses stop near by. Funny enough, this neighborhood has been pretty dead for quite a while, but it’s slowly starting to liven up and allot of designers and architects moved to our hood. We hope that other shops will follow to create a more alternative shopping area. It’s a frendly block, no gangs or drive-by shootings here!
Please describe the kinds of books and other merchandise that you carry. What do you offer your customers?
We created a spot where we offer a whole universe around Graphic Design and Streetart. Apart from books, we also offer streetwear, toys, comics and other accessories. There is also a Streetart gallery in the back, where we present streetartists from all around the world eight times a year. So you can also purchase refreshing art and screenprints to make your home look like a million bucks!
What are your favorite dgv books?
It’s really hard to make up our minds...
Neubau Modul, Tactile and House... but Illusive 1 is still king!
What are your customers' favorite dgv books?
NeoGeo, Dot Dot Dash, Tactile...
Who might be seen visiting the store? What kinds of people shop there?
Teenagers wearing skinny jeans and tapes around their necks; hippy art students with smiley t-shirts; slick dudes dressed in black, wearing pointy shoes; girls with straight long blond hair as well as those with a black and greasy mop; mum and dad looking for a birthday present; sick looking people from the hospital around the corner, searching for funky pyjamas.
Is there anything else about the store that you'd like us to mention?
Sorry our stock of funky pyjamas is sold out!
