The Tactile Re-Connection

Posted by Gestalten—11/2014

Interweaving geometric wood paillettes with textile properties, Berlin-based designer Elisa Strozyk aims at “giving importance to surfaces and enhancing the emotional value of an object.” As part of the series featuring personalities from our recent title The Craft and the Makers, we visited the award-winning talent in her Kreuzberg studio to find out more about her fascination with wood, the surprising elements of her products, and her new exclusive collection developed in collaboration with Gestalten.

Here Gestalten.tv presents a video with Elisa Strozyk that shows just how fascinatingly flexible, almost fluid, her wood and textile hybrid pieces really are. It also sneaks a peek at her deconstruction process, in which geometric pieces of wood are arranged by hand on a fabric base.
