The Cheeky Anti-Chair Is Mainly Style with Minimal Substance
Posted by Gestalten—07/2016

Arm by Clark Bardsley Design is hardly a chair. In fact, Bardsley himself refers to it as an anti-chair: though borrowing the arms and the cresting rail of a classic saddle-back Windsor chair, Bardsley’s creation lacks a seat. To function, the four-legged form must be placed over an existing stool, bench, or another chair. “It celebrates nonsense, and gleefully breaks the chair design rule book,” the designer said of his structurally beautiful but practically unusable piece.
