Catching Up with James Kerwin

Revisiting Once Opulent Sites

When we last caught up with Norwich-based photographer James Kerwin, his eye-catching photographs caught architecture in decay: Now two years later and Kerwin’s latest series has found its footing in diving deep into the opulence of former ballrooms, mansions, and more. Shot between January and December 2017, Kerwin's “Scorned” series–which is available to purchase as editioned prints–explores the elegance of abandoned architecture worn down over years without use. Paint flakes, tiles fall, and wood cracks as time passes through the rooms, leaving them a husk of their former glory.
