Colors of the Wall
At its heart, a showroom is meant to help shoppers build a relationship between furnishings: by moving between different furniture options and colors, customers can find a more cohesive vision of what their finished home might look like. But in the age of digital marketplaces, how can consumers visualize their future bedrooms, bathrooms, and other interiors? When Stockholm-based Swoon launched a line with designer Frederik Wallner, they created an innovative digital showroom that allowed shoppers to personalize the details on their furnishings, such as taps, basins, knobs, and more. Then came a second challenge: How could the retailer display the broad palette of offerings.
The end result was a series of bold monochrome images featuring the furniture line in forest green, matte, black, and a number of other colors. The Frederik Wallner collection is one of the many examples of inspiring interiors pushing bathroom design forward featured in our book Take a Bath. The recent release is also available in German as Baden Baden.
