For Rossbarths, a new gastronomy project in Linz, Austria, owners Sebastian Rossbach and Marco Barth tapped destilat architecture and design for a pared-down but high-quality interior concept. The architects started by stripping the interior of its suspended ceiling to offer a full view off the original arch built into the structure. Oak wood and sheets of steel were bent to shape the minimal furniture from small-scale producers and craftsmen, all adhering to a strict, principled, and cool-headed ethos as articulated by the owners. An open kitchen introduces a sense of intimacy to the surprisingly large restaurant, all ordered under a wide palette of textures, colors, and sense of calmness that rings throughout Rossbarths.
