A New Kind of Greenhouse
At the entry of URBY Harrison in New Jersey, there’s a luscious espresso bar from Coperaco Coffee tucked away behind the earthy-green façade. Designed by Amsterdam-based studio concrete, the space is marked by black beams acting as a backbone for the even-keeled ceiling; glowing white marble-top counters lining the bar in the center of the space anchor it visually with a balance of heavy materials and lighter textures. An offshoot space is carved out under a wooden structure holding up a net of black fencing. A thick canopy of greenery weaves in and out of the wires, offering visitors a calming retreat into the wild well within the comfort of a café.
