Roadside America by Ralph Gräf
The American countryside is full of long and winding roads through deserts, across valleys, and steep mountains. Ralph Gräf followed these paths, documenting them in his “Roadside America” series. A biologist in Potsdam by day, Gräf uses his free time to explore the world through the lens of his many cameras, and he’s participated in a number of exhibitions since 2010.
Take a look at the blue skies and dream-like clouds of Gräf’s series below, or check out our new book It’s A Gas! to see how his photographs of pitstops fit into the architectural landscape in the automotive boom that followed the Second World War. The book on design and history of gas stations is available in German as Schöner Tanken.
