There’s a sense of relaxation to be found among the canopies of a luscious forest such as the one in Tala on the West coast of India. The forest has a storied history of natural beauty and meditative landscapes: Buddhist monks made the hills and nearby Kuda caves their home nearly 20 centuries ago. Now, the Tree Villa by Architecture BRIO offers a new way to explore the luscious grounds. From the timber bridge and tiers of thatched roofing, the “treesort” was built to honor and celebrate the forest. Similarly, portholes and fences make way for preexisting branches to grow freely, and for the admiration of visitors.

A vibrant generation of explorers are going back into the woods. Meet them in our book Wildside.
