There is something bright and energetic about the collage work by artist Peter Horvath. He scans in spreads from mid-century magazines and douses them with a healthy dose of frenetic colors and layered textures. Old-timey portraiture mixes with fragmented intergalactic bodies to create a dreamy invocation of exploration and a sense of movement through space and time. Along with five other artists, Horvath will be showing his work in Toronto as part of the “ADOPTIVE” exhibition at Stephen Bulger Gallery starting this Saturday, January 27.

Peter Horvath is also one of the many artists featured in our book The Age of Collage Vol. 2, which documents the contemporary evolution of collage making as a form of art and design.
