A Cut and Paste Mirage
For a two-dimensional art form, collages capture a remarkable depth as layered light, shadows, and textures collide in juxtaposition. Aesthetic rhythms are tapped out as the collages explore space in three dimensions. “MIRAGE” by artist Gina Kiel and photographer Russell Kleyn for Lo & Behold is a visually rich exploration of this power—the power of creating new forms out of old ones. The series was produced in collaboration with The Service Depot, an independent concept store, so forward-thinking styling and accessories provided a futuristic palette of textures and source images.
