The Clones Project by Erdal Inci
Explore the Animated Worlds that Take Motion Cloning to a New Level
For his series of animations The Clone Project, photographer Erdal Inci cloned videos to create complex, choreographed images. In some of the videos, a hooded figure runs in an infinite loop with every step amplified by a chorus of clones following suite; in others, lights dance in gorgeous circles. “At this point the only thing I interfere with is the time,” he says. “Everything you see in the composition actually happened—it’s just that I later bring each part of the performance together to happen at the same time... I looked for ways to add a kind of suspended time to the historic architecture seen in the frame and the time frame created by this history in our perception”.
Photographers, designers, and other creatives worldwide are rethinking how we process and visualize information. See more of their output in our book PhotoViz.
